Open Water Certification
5 Day Certification Training
Interested in diving anywhere in the world? Then successful completion of Rugged Scuba will give scouts a lifetime certification issued by PADI, the largest and best-known training agency in the world today. This program involves five full days of training beginning when you arrive at camp and ending on Friday. The online home study of 12-18 hours (average is 8 to 12 hrs.) must be completed before coming to camp (scouts will not be allowed to participate in the program if this work is not done!).
Register with CAMP first
Registration
Registered Rugged "S" participants will be emailed access codes from Malibu Divers for eLearning starting around mid-March, with earlier weeks at camp receiving theirs first. The eLearning program generally takes participants anywhere from 12-18 hours to complete prior to arriving to Camp. This system does not lend itself to "group study", however Malibu Divers instructors will be able to monitor each student's progress and will be available to answer questions and provide guidance if needed. We have had extensive experience with this program over the last 20 years and find that students find this program easy to use and comprehend and they come to us better prepared than those preparing with the old style book and DVD. All quizzes and exams are taken on-line (prior to coming to camp) and are monitored by our instructors.

Notes
. We use PADI's eLearning system where all home study, quizzes and exams will be completed on-line by participants prior to coming to camp. PADI eLearning will not work on iPads, iPhones, or iPods.
. Please do not register for eLearning without your access codes as no credits will be issued!
. Each Rugged S participant should anticipate being with us full-time from just after breakfast, (lunch break) and then until just before dinner, Monday through Thursday. Friday will likely be a shorter day. There will also be one session at the end of the week devoted to the Scuba Merit Badge class.
