Advanced Open Water Certification
5 Day Certification Training - Certified Diver Expeditions
In Rugged Oceanographers, you will learn about and explore Catalina's unique underwater environments as you earn your PADI Advanced Open Water Certification. Our Rugged "O" participants experience some of the best dive locations at Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. You will learn and practice advanced dive techniques, such as precision underwater navigation, deep dives to a strange world where light seems to have no source, search and recovery dives, night dives lit only by your dive light and the glowing algae that swirls around you, and much, much more.
PADI eLearning
Registration
Electronic learning (eLearning) is the delivery of education, using your mobile device or web browser. PADI eLearning allows you to begin your dive education at your convenience, using your desktop, laptop or mobile device, and finish your training in the water with a Malibu Divers PADI Professional.
We will send you your elearning access pass once you are registered. (Do not register on your own or through another store) The eLearning pass and work are included with our program and must be completed prior to coming to camp.
MINIMUM AGE: 12 years old on the week you arrive at Camp (National Boy Scout rule). Prerequisite: must be certified as an Open Water diver. Sorry, no exceptions. Space is limited, sign-up early to reserve your spot!

Gear: You're already a diver, so we recommend that you bring your own snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, boots, fins, gloves, etc) that you learned to dive and that you know already fits you. If you don't have snorkeling gear, you need to check with us on sizing and availability. We supply the hard gear - tanks, weights, BCD, regulator & gauges. If you need anything special or are ready to own your own hard gear - special BSA Scouts packages are available.
RELEASES: You will be emailed all additional information including releases. They are provided here for reference. Follow all the directions and fill them out completely and bring them with you to Camp. Any questions or need more information - contact us.
PADI Medical Release (for every diver, page 3 must be signed by physician)
